Congressman Dave Trott of Michigan Joins Macedonia Caucus

Congressman Trott (R-11th Congressional District of Michigan) has joined the Macedonia Caucus.

The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is pleased to announce that Congressman Dave Trott (Republican-11th Congressional District of Michigan) has joined the Congressional Caucus on Macedonia and Macedonian-Americans (Macedonia Caucus).

Congressman Trott took office this past January, and serves on the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and as a member of the Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats, which handles U.S.-Macedonia relations. Prior to coming to Congress, he worked as chairman, CEO, and owner of several businesses, which created and saved 1,800 jobs in Southeast Michigan.

Michigan is home to an estimated 125,000 Americans of Macedonian heritage, of which Congressman Trott’s district is home to one of the largest Macedonian-American communities in the nation.

Given the Congressman’s constituency, and his interests of European affairs, we are certain Congressman Trott will monitor issues concerning the Macedonian-American community, including Macedonia’s hope to join NATO and help advance the strategic U.S.-Macedonia partnership,” said Michigan-based UMD Board Member and Secretary George Peters, who recently met with the Congressman.

The Congressional Caucus on Macedonia and Macedonian-Americans (Macedonia Caucus) is a bi-partisan group of members of Congress. As the voice for Macedonian-Americans in Washington, D.C., UMD looks forward to working with all Macedonia Caucus members in furthering their work to strengthen U.S.-Macedonia relations.
