Ema Brown 

Ema (Reshkoska) Brown became UMD’s first Director of Advancement and Development in February 2022.

Prior to joining UMD’s office, she held positions as a Customer Success Manager, Marketing and Events Coordinator, and Office Manager with more than seven years of experience.

Ema was born and raised in Ohrid, Macedonia. She played basketball for the Macedonian National Team, which granted her the opportunity to come and play in the United States. In 2008, she moved to the States as a senior in High School and earned a full scholarship at Radford University, where she played Division I basketball. In 2013, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Her love for basketball turned into another adventure when she served as a part of the coaching staff at Morehead State University and graduated with a master’s degree in Social Science.

Ema coaches boys’ varsity High School basketball in Maryland. She enjoys planning and hosting events, cooking for loved ones, and dancing to good music.

Ema and her husband Aaron, have a daughter, Sasha who will grow up to be a proud Makedonka like her mom.
