UMD Aid
Since 2004, UMD has donated over $1.5 million in charitable and humanitarian assistance to Macedonia in partnership with the World Medical Relief and the Dattilio Medical Mission, as well as with help from UMD members. The donated equipment includes respiratory care systems, surgical supplies, orthopedic items, and more.
In January 2024, the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) partnered once again with World Medical Relief and Dattilio Medical Mission to deliver medical equipment worth $450,620 to the Dr. Trifun Panovski Clinical Hospital in Bitola, Macedonia. This came after the successful delivery of over half a million dollars worth of equipment to the Skopje Hospital in 2022. UMD and the Dattilio Medical Mission covered the shipping costs from Michigan to Macedonia. UMD Macedonia and Europe Director, Gordan Jordanov, along with Macedonian Ministers of Health and Culture, visited the hospital to witness the impact of this donation. The Bitola Hospital Director expressed her gratitude, stating that the equipment will greatly improve healthcare services for patients in the region.
