UMD Establishes Macedonia Wildfire Relief Fund and We Need Your Help!

Macedonia is Burning.

The country has been unprecedently devastated by wildfires, simultaneously going on in several cities, for nearly two weeks due to high temperatures affecting the entire Southeast Europe. And we need your help.

UMD has set up a Macedonia Wildfire Relief Fund. Your donation will go to thoroughly vetted activities on the ground providing food, water, shelter, and supplies to people and animals in need. The Macedonia Wildfire Relief Fund will remain open for as long as needed to support recovery and preparedness programs in communities most impacted by the wildfires.

All resources in the country have been geared towards extinguishing these wildfires – an assessment of the damage and the needs will take some time.

UMD will continue to monitor the situation and evaluate where your donations should be effectively allocated where needed the most.

How Your Donation Will Be Used

When you donate to UMD’s Macedonia Wildfire Relief Fund, your donation will be used to:

  • Provide food and emergency medical supplies to people and animals
  • Support temporary relief and emergency supplies for displaced families
  • Provide support to front-line workers and volunteers
  • Purchase firefighting suits, boots, and equipment
  • Meet other needs that emerge

UMD is one of the most reliable and trustworthy Macedonian organizations – we are committed to full transparency and low overhead costs. — 100% of your donations go directly to support our charitable programs. UMD publishes annual public financial reports.

UMD has a track record of providing charitable, humanitarian, and disaster relief, facilitating close to $300,000 in aid to Macedonia.
