Nicholas Thaw is Chairman and Program Officer at the International Music and Art Foundation of Vaduz, Liechtenstein (www.imaf.li). Established with the belief that, after all, our greatest legacy to future generations is art, the International Music and Art Foundation makes grants to facilitate the improvement and dissemination of the visual and performing arts as well as the study and preservation of art and culture from the past. With a background in philanthropy, theatre management, architecture, and business consulting, Nicholas has served on the Executive Committee of the National Council of Glimmerglass Opera and was a Vice-Chair of the Council of Fellows of the Pierpont Morgan Library. Formerly on the Board of the New York State Historical Association and the World Monuments Fund, Nicholas has also served as Trustee of several other prominent national and international arts and cultural organizations. Nicholas is President of the Assembly of Ambassadors of “OSTEN – Art on Paper” and has served as President of the Jury of the “SkupiFestival” International Theater Festival and the OSTEN World Gallery of Drawings Competition in Skopje. He also currently serves as “Special Attache” to the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Macedonia to South Florida. He lives with his wife, the artist Irena Gapkovska, in Skopje and Miami Beach.
