The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is pleased to announce that Congressman Matt Cartwright (Democrat-17th Congressional District of Pennsylvania) has joined the bi-partisan Congressional Caucus on Macedonia and Macedonian-Americans (Macedonia Caucus) bringing the number to 26 members.
“With Pennsylvania’s historic Macedonian community, Congressman Cartwright’s support holds great meaning for us. As the voice of Macedonian-Americans in Washington, D.C., we, at UMD, cannot thank the Congressman enough and we look forward to working with him and the Macedonia Caucus leadership on advancing the important U.S.-Macedonia relationship,” said UMD President Metodija A. Koloski.
Congressman Cartwright took office in 2013, and serves on the House Appropriations Committee. He is also on the Appropriations Subcommittees for Commerce- Justice-Science and Financial Services & General Government, as well as a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Congressmen Cartwright sits on the Steering and Policy Committee and is a Regional Whip.
