The local Macedonian-American community in Columbus, Ohio came together for the 1st Ajvar 5K Run/Walk at Creekside Park in Gahanna, Ohio.

Proceeds from this event as well as the other three races held nationwide (Garfield, New Jersey, Los Angeles, California, and Washington, D.C.) will go towards Emanuil Plus, an organization in Bitola, Macedonia that provides support for children with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and various other neurological disorders. Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover one full year of operating expenses.
Volunteers assisted with registration and providing all participants with their race bag which included Good Nature Tea, a Temperance Row pint glass, and a t-shirt, just to name a few. Tony Petreski from Max’s Imports set up a Mama’s Ajvar sampling stand so everyone could have a taste of the goodness! All race participants were treated to a complimentary jar of Mama’s Ajvar after finishing the race.
