Proceeds raised from all three Ajvar 5K Run/Walks will go towards helping orphans in Macedonia, particularly the 11th October Orphanage in Skopje, Macedonia, which is in dire need of brand new floorings, carpets, cabinets, and much more. We hope to also provide assistance to the infancy/baby orphanage in Bitola, Macedonia in the form of formula, diapers, other baby supplies. It all depends how much we can raise from donations and sponsorships! Your support is needed TODAY!
The Ann Arbor, Michigan MK 5K: Ajvar Run/Walk for Diversity is being organized by University of Michigan’s Macedonian American Student Association (MASA), and a portion of the proceeds raised will go towards the local Ann Arbor Ronald McDonald House to help American children in need as well.
Thanks to the generosity of many friends last year, together with the United Macedonian Americans of Detroit, we were able to provide the 11th October Orphanage with 25 brand new beds and mattresses for the children there. Our partner, Pencils 4 Kids International, founded by UMD Advisory Council member Ambassador Ljubica Z. Acevska, provided school supplies for all the children at the orphanage. Each runner/walk will receive a jar of Ajvar – one of Macedonia’s top exports and delicious traditional specialties and a run/walk t-shirt (shirts will not be available in Ann Arbor). We will also be giving out prizes to winners and will have a raffle. What more can you ask for in return for helping those in need?
