UMD is thrilled to host its first Macedonia Symposium and Experience at the Limak Skopje Luxury Hotel in Skopje, Macedonia, on July 20, 2023, followed by a Wines of Macedonia Tour on July 21, 2023.

July 20th – with breathtaking views of Skopje from the Limak Skopje Luxury Hotel Sky rooftop – will feature five panel discussions on topics ranging from youth and women and Macedonia’s hidden gems (rural communities!) to incentives for exploring, investing, and retiring in Macedonia. We have something for everyone. Speakers will share their experiences, stories, and visions for a future we all want to see for the country. We will conclude the day with a special reception, musical performances, and a Birthright Macedonia closing ceremony.

July 21st is a bonus – a Wines of Macedonia Tour – we will depart from Skopje with a chartered bus and head down to Lazar Winery for tastings and lunch. A visit to the ancient Macedonian archaeological site Stobi, followed by coffee at the Veles Lake, topped off with more tastings, a dinner, and sunset views of the Winery Sopot. We will make sure the bus will be waiting to take you and your bottles of Macedonian wine back to Skopje.
