The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is pleased to welcome Congressman Kerry Bentivolio (Republican-Michigan) as the 18th member of the Congressional Caucus on Macedonia and Macedonian-Americans (Macedonia Caucus). Congressman Bentivolio represents the 11th Congressional District of Michigan, including the cities of Troy and Bloomfield Hills where many Americans of Macedonian heritage reside.
For over 20 years, Congressman Bentivollio served in the Michigan Army National Guard. Congressman Bentivolio’s background includes military service, business, automotive design, real estate, political activism, education, and community involvement.
“Michigan is home to more than 120,000 Americans of Macedonian heritage. UMD and the Macedonian-American community in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District are grateful to Congressman Bentivolio for joining the Macedonia Caucus and being a friend of Macedonia,” said UMD President Metodija A. Koloski.
The Macedonia Caucus serves as a body to maintain and strengthen the positive and mutually beneficial relationship between the United States and Macedonia.
As the voice for Macedonian-Americans in Washington, D.C., UMD looks forward to working with all Macedonia Caucus members in furthering its work to strengthen U.S.-Macedonia relations. UMD encourages all Macedonian-Americans to contact their members of Congress and ask them to join the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Macedonia and Macedonian-Americans.
