Announcing New UMD Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

January 25, 2012 – Washington, D.C. – The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is pleased to announce its new headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C.  The modern office space is located near the White House and several federal agencies, and the McPherson Square Metro Station, at 1510 H Street, NW, Suite 900, Washington, D.C. 20005.

“UMD is excited to be sharing the ninth floor with our friends at the Turkish Coalition of America, Turkish Cultural Foundation, and the Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said UMD Chairman Stojan Nikolov. “We look forward to strengthening our already great collaboration with all three organizations.”

“We are proud of UMD’s new home, which is also a home to the entire Macedonian-American community and global diaspora,” said UMD President Metodija A. Koloski. “By being steps from the White House, in the heart of the nation’s capital, we are sending a clear message: the Macedonians have a strong voice in Washington, we will advocate for our interests and protect our cultural identity at the highest levels of influence.”

Photo of UMD President Metodija A. Koloski with Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-New Jersey) and Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-North Carolina) was taken on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at a reception inaugurating the new offices organized by the Turkish Coalition of America and Turkish Cultural Foundation, which was attended by several members of Congress, diaspora leaders, and diplomatic community representatives.
