Announcing New UMD Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

January 25, 2012 - Washington, D.C. - The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is pleased to announce its new headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C.  The modern office space is located near the White House and several federal agencies, and the McPherson Square Metro Station, at 1510 H Street, NW, Suite 900, Washington, D.C. 20005.

 

"UMD is excited to be sharing the ninth floor with our friends at the Turkish Coalition of America, Turkish Cultural Foundation, and the Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina," said UMD Chairman Stojan Nikolov. "We look forward to strengthening our already great collaboration with all three organizations."

"We are proud of UMD's new home, which is also a home to the entire Macedonian-American community and global diaspora," said UMD President Metodija A. Koloski. "By being steps from the White House, in the heart of the nation's capital, we are sending a clear message: the Macedonians have a strong voice in Washington, we will advocate for our interests and protect our cultural identity at the highest levels of influence."

Call it Macedonia Letter to National Post Editor Published Today

On May 10, 2013, the National Post, one of Canada’s largest newspapers, published an article by Bert Archer titled “Yours to conquer: Macedonia is in the midst of an Alexander The Great rebranding.” Jim Daikos, Director of United Macedonian Diaspora (Canada), sent a letter to the editor in response to this article, and the letter “Call it Macedonia” was published in today’s National Post.

Religious Freedom Advocates/UMD Call on Secretary Kerry to Put Abuses in Greece on Agenda
