Generation M Global Chair
Mario Hristovski is a Co-Founder of Generation M and currently serves as the Global Chair. He was born in Bitola, Macedonia and moved to the United States at age 7 to escape the 2001 conflict. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University and holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and International Studies. During his time at Ohio State he organized the first Macedonian student group, and created many mutually beneficial relationships with other diaspora communities. He is currently working to become an investment broker for the real estate firm Marcus & Millichap in Cincinnati, OH.
A firm believer in the words of Goce Delcev, that any meaningful change has to come from a commitment to education and a shift in mentality, Mario has invested a lot in educating the Macedonian youth to equip them in becoming skilled advocates for Macedonia. He has given many lectures on how to strategically engage with anti-Macedonian rhetoric, and has authored a number of articles to fight back the tide of propaganda. Most recently, he oversaw the transformation of UMD’s premier publication UMD Voice Magazine into a platform for young Macedonians to publish think-pieces and articles. In his capacity as an International Policy and Diplomacy Fellow for UMD, Mario became heavily involved with advocacy work related to passing pro-Macedonian legislation in Congress and increasing the size and strength of the Macedonian Caucus.
Outside of work and UMD, Mario enjoys reading philosophy and history, traveling, and investing.
