"The Greek government views the term "Macedonian" as a geographic term that describes all Greek citizens living in the Macedonian region in northern Greece. The government denies the assertions of the ethnic Macedonians in Greece that they are are a minority group; officials refer to them as "Slavophone Greeks" or "bilinguals." - Human Rights Watch

On 20 March 2006, Bojan Dremelj, the president of the management board of Telekom Slovenije, and Vladimir Peševski, SEAF, signed in Skopje the agreement on acquisition of 76% share in Macedonian internet service provider On.net from Skopje.  The managements of both companies were received also by the president and vice-president of Macedonian government, Vlado Buckovski in Radmila Šekerinska.

By acquiring the internet service provider On.net, we have actually started to realise our strategic decision about expansion to foreign markets. In this era of new technological revolution in telecommunications, offering numerous new opportunities, this acquisition demonstrates also the new development paradigm of our company and its group. Telekom Slovenije counts on great synergic influences and, in particular, on transfer of know-how related to the introduction of broadband technologies and services to the Macedonian market.

On.net is the second largest internet service provider in Macedonia, providing dial-up, ADSL broadband and wireless Wi-Fi access to internet. On.net is well known for its planned project of establishing the largest Wi-Fi network in the world, which is expected to cover 95% of Macedonian population by means of the so-called mesh technology. On.net expects to become the leading alternative provider of fixed voice telephony in Macedonia. Within this objective, they will become an important player in the market of international call termination. Last year, this company with 70 employees generated revenues of 1 billion Slovenian tolars.
