"The Greek government views the term "Macedonian" as a geographic term that describes all Greek citizens living in the Macedonian region in northern Greece. The government denies the assertions of the ethnic Macedonians in Greece that they are are a minority group; officials refer to them as "Slavophone Greeks" or "bilinguals." - Human Rights Watch

Every child deserves a warm Christmas
YOU can make that happen!  UMD will help!

This Christmas, UMD is organizing a donation drive with the goal of spreading the Christmas spirit among the 108 orphaned children in The SOS Children's Village, Skopje, Macedonia.  Let's bring a smile to those 108 faces during this festive season of giving together!

Every child deserves to experience the happiness of opening a Christmas gift (known in Macedonia as the traditional Novogodishno Paketce).  UMD needs your help to provide a gift for every orphaned child at The SOS Children's Village.  In addition to the candy and toys that are included in the package, UMD plans to provide for gloves, hats and scarves to keep their young hearts warm for the winter season.

Donation Amounts (just so you can know how far your dollar will go):

    *      When YOU donate $5, a child will get a paketce
    *      When YOU donate $10, a child will get either a hat, scarf or a pair of gloves in the paketce
    *      When YOU donate $15, a child will get a set of gloves/scarf/hat in the paketce

Donation Information:

Donate by clicking HERE .  Enter your amount under General Contribution and then click Yes to I am donating to help a Macedonian child at the bottom or send a check to United Macedonian Diaspora with the note "Sponsor a Child" in the memo line and mail it to P.O.
