(Makfax) Zagreb. Croatia's leading dairy producer Dukat, majority-owned by French company Lactalis, has stated on Tuesday that it will take over the Macedonian dairy Ideal Shipka.

Dukat gave no details on the value of the transaction. This take-over will be completed as soon as the necessary acquisition terms are met. The acquisition is subject to approval by Macedonian Competitiveness Council.

Dukat is the second largest importer of dairy products in Macedonia. In May 2007, French Lactalis acquired a majority stake in Dukat.

The Bitola-based Ideal Shipka, the second largest dairy in Macedonia, was established in 1997. It is a leading cheese producer in the country, processing roughly 30 million liters of milk a year.
