 Today, the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) urged the government of the Republic of Macedonia to do everything necessary to ensure that the upcoming elections in Macedonia are free, fair, and without incident.  Metodija A. Koloski, UMD’s President stated: “It falls upon Macedonian citizens, not just government officials and political leaders, to constructively participate in Macedonia’s democratic process.  It is through democratic means that there will be equality and justice for all Macedonian citizens, not violence.”

TCA & UMD Announce Study in Turkey Scholarships for Macedonian-American Students PDF Print E-mail

The Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) and the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) today announced the launch of a scholarship program for Macedonian-American students to participate in study abroad programs in Turkey.  

TCA , through UMD, will award up to 10 grants per year for $2,000 to full-time Macedonian-American undergraduates accepted to a study abroad program at a Turkish university.  The objectives of the program are for Macedonian-American students to foster friendship, understanding and cooperation between the United States and Turkey and to explore the historical and cultural links between Turkey and Macedonia.

UMD Commemorates 136th Birthday of Goce Delchev PDF Print E-mail

Today, the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) observes the 136th anniversary of the birth of Macedonian national hero Goce Delchev, one of the fathers of the Macedonian national consciousness and of Macedonian independence.  Goce Delchev fought and gave his life for a free and independent Macedonia and preserved the spirit of the Macedonian people during Ottoman rule over Macedonia.
