 The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) and Splash of Hope are pleased to announce a partnership to form The Fund for Macedonian Children.  The Fund’s goal is to invest in the creation of effective humanitarian programs designed to benefit the youth of Macedonia and thereby forge a better future for the entire Balkan region.

 Tose Proeski, one of Macedonia’s most popular singers, and a regional UNICEF Ambassador, has a new mission: to improve the quality of education in his country.

The rock star will perform at a concert in Macedonia’s capital, Skopje, in late September to support the country’s five-year Primary Education Project. More than 25,000 people are expected to attend the event, which will be Web cast to reach fans in Serbia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria.

Macedonian Woman Saving Children in Sudan PDF Print E-mail

Milena Jovanova, originally from Negotino, Macedonia, went to Sudan as a volunteer last year.  Her only contact with the world was her satellite phone, for which she paid the bill herself.  A resilient humanitarian activist, Milena plans to go again on Doctors Without Borders mission, this time to Liberia...She spent half-a-year in rough living conditions, amongst people with leprosy, tuberculosis, and other contagious diseases.
