September 19, 2011 – Washington, D.C. – On August 31, 2011, the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) bestowed upon the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) Chairman Dr. Yalcin Ayasli its distinguished Macedonia Friendship Award at the Macedonian Presidential Palace in Skopje, in the presence of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov. September 3, 2011 – Skopje, Macedonia – The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) Board Chairman Stojan Nikolov and President Metodija A. Koloski, who are on an official visit to Macedonia to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Macedonia’s Independence, send their congratulations to Macedonia’s Men’s National Basketball Team over tonight’s 72:58 win against Greece at the European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2011) in Lithuania.
According to the 2006 Australian Census there were over 83,000 Australians who declared their Macedonian identity. The greater the number of people with Macedonian identity and ancestry, the more attention will be paid to the community by the government and important organisations and groups.

July 1, 2011 – Washington, D.C. – On Saturday, June 25, 2011, during the Gala of the 3rd Annual United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) Global Conference celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Republic of Macedonia’s Independence, UMD launched a new program: Macedonian Companions.
UMD successfully completed its 3rd Annual Global Conference (UMD GC2011) at the JW Marriott in downtown Washington, D.C. from June 23-25, 2011. June 6, 2011 – Washington, D.C. – The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) joins millions of Macedonians throughout the world in congratulating Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski for successfully winning yesterday’s elections in Macedonia.
