The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD), and its next generation of leaders program – Generation M – are pleased to announce that the 2nd Macedonian-American Leadership Conference #MALC2015 will be held on May 8-10, 2015 at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio State University’s Macedonian-American Student Organization (MASO) has taken a leading role in hosting the conference this year.
UMD, Generation M, and MASO encourage all Macedonian-American leaders, especially young Macedonians and college students, to join us for this exciting opportunity. United, We Can!
Macedonia’s new Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Vasko Naumovski, has announced his participation. The leadership of various Macedonian organizations and Macedonian Orthodox Churches throughout the United States will be in attendance as well.
The goal of this conference is to bring together Macedonian-American community leaders, especially our youth, to map out strategies to make collective impact within our communities, and for Macedonia on various issues of importance through cultural promotional, linguistic preservation, and educational advocacy.
MALC2015 will focus significantly on youth outreach and development. UMD has always put tremendous emphasis on strengthening our youth through leadership programs, and scholarships. Generation M, which is spearheading MALC2015, will offer ways for youth to get involved through social media training, student organizations, and scholarship opportunities. More information on this summer’s Birthright Macedonia program will be presented during MALC2015.
A full program will be announced soon.
