“I am both humbled and honored by the confidence Speaker Boehner has shown in me to take on the chairmanship of the Committee on House Administration. “We congratulate Congresswoman Miller, who has been a long standing friend of the Macedonian-American community and a leading voice in Congress on issues affecting our community since coming to Congress in 2003, and we are very pleased to see her take this leadership position in the U.S. House of Representatives,” said UMD President Metodija A. Koloski. “We look forward to working with Chairwoman Miller during the 113th Congress.
Congresswoman Miller is the chair of the Congressional Caucus for Macedonia and Macedonian-Americans, which is a bi-cameral and bi-partisan group of members of Congress dedicated to maintaining and strengthening a positive and mutually beneficial relationship between the United States and Macedonia. In March 2012, she led an effort to bring together fifty-four members of Congress to urge President Obama to support Macedonia’s NATO membership – the largest Congressional support Macedonia has ever received.
