February 27, 2012 – Washington, D.C. – The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is pleased to announce that Congressman Michael Turner – the Chairman of the U.S. Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) and the Chairman of the House Armed Services’ Strategic Forces Subcommittee – has joined the Congressional Caucus on Macedonia and Macedonian-Americans (Macedonia Caucus). Congressman Turner is the U.S. Representative for Ohio’s Third Congressional District, serving since 2003.
“UMD is honored to have Congressman Turner as a member of the Macedonia Caucus, and we welcome his support for Macedonia and her NATO membership,” said UMD President Metodija A. Koloski. “We are highly encouraged by Congressman Turner joining the Macedonia Caucus, increasing the Caucus to eight members.”
The Macedonia Caucus, chaired by the longstanding friend of Macedonia, Congresswoman Candice Miller (R-MI), is dedicated to maintaining and strengthening a positive and mutually beneficial relationship between the United States and Macedonia.
